Jever was founded in 1848 at the "Friesisches Brauhaus zu Jever". At that time it was one of the many breweries in the area, but the founder Diedrich König immediately convinced himself that his beer had something special. After his death, the beer passed into the hands of his son and then of the entrepreneur Theodor Fetköter who not only relaunched the production of Jever Pilsener in grand style, but also endowed the town of Friesland with a modern water system. Jever Pilsener represents excellence in the world of Pils so much that the "Jever taste" has become a reference point and Jever is one of the best-selling beers in Germany.
